Our Story
We would like to fulfill a long standing dream of traveling and volunteering abroad. This will be our first trip as volunteers. We love to travel and we also have a blog about traveling, where we post our travels and much more, you can see it here :http://o-meu-passaporte.blogspot.com/ , the blog it´s in Portuguese, but it haves a translate buttons.
We visit already following countries: Europe - Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Slovak, Poland, England, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Portugal. Africa - São Tomé e Principe. Middle East –Jordan, Egypt, Tunisian. Asia – Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia. South America – Brazil. Central America –Mexico.
We think this is a great opportunity to get involved in helping to preserve this amazing endangered species and gain an insight into marine biology. We will play an important role in helping to safeguard the existence of this species by cleaning beaches in preparation for the nesting season and taking part in regular beach patrols during the night.
The location of the project: Pacuare, Gandoca Manzanillo or Parismina on the Caribbean coast, Mata Palo or Buena Vista on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica
And we wish we can also improve our Spanish talking with the locals.
We are doing this through i to i Volunteering, an organization that structures the volunteer position, from the pick up, to volunteer placement, to arranging accommodation in shared room in dormitory or homesstay. I will gain much confidence this way.

The Impact
As i-to-i volunteers, we hope we can help, to reduce the level of sea turtle nests being poached, increase the number of adult turtles, protect the eggs and we hope to release higher numbers of baby turtles to the sea.
What We Need & What You Get
The fee for a two weeks volunteer position in Costa Rica for i to i Volunteer is $1.110 X 2 person (me and my wife) = $2.220. The round trip plane fare is $1.350 X 2 person (me and my wife) = $2.700. The travel insurance, visas, airport transfers and local transport costs will be paid for us. To summarize: $2.220 i to i fee and 2.700 travel plane fee, so for our campaign we need a total of $4.920.
If we can reach our goal, we will donate the money that we raise to the Dog Shelter that we work as Volunteers.
